About me…
My name is Jayme Henderson and I have spent the past 15 years committed to working with children, youth and families in the Yukon. It is an honour to witness the resiliency of individuals during their most vulnerable times, and I strive to work with a person’s whole self as they navigate their healing journey.
Drawing upon a Master’s of Social Work with Indigenous specialization and a background in clinical work with youth, nature-based therapy and parenting support, my personalized approach involves connecting with a person, wherever they are at. Bringing warmth, humour and curiosity, I seek to create a safe space where people can unpack their struggles and understand new ways to cope, learn and heal.
As a culturally sensitive therapist, I strive to understand and respect the diverse backgrounds of my clients, fostering an environment where their unique experiences and values are honored in our therapeutic work together.
I am especially passionate about working with First Nations families in the Yukon, and have extensive experience helping families navigate the grief, addictions, PTSD and intergenerational trauma that have resulted from our colonial past.
Most insurance plans cover my designations.
